Kiss my Grits.

I am totally in luuurve with this dress. I feel like a waitress in a diner in the 1970's. It was a stupendous thrifting find! The shoes are perfect for it too I think.

These shoes can be a bit 'orthopedic' looking unless they are styled properly but they are just right for slinging hash at Mel's diner all day :)

Zombie at Tiffany's.

I found this picture on a T-shirt online the other day and instantly fell in love with it. Then I saw this woman on the bus wearing cute cropped jeans and all of this somehow translated it to this outfit. Perhaps none of that makes any sense but I'm just letting you all in on my thought process.....oooookay....moving on:

I absolutely adore the details on the cuffs and down the front of this vintage cardigan. None of these pictures are really that great but you kind of get the picture.

P.S. When I was uploading today's photos, I found these pictures that I took last friday that I never posted and I think the top half of my body from that day would have look great with the bottom half of my body from today. I'd still go with the black cat eye glasses though! Anyway people..stay stylish! Love, Onika.

HUUUUGE GIRL CRUSH.

Words cannot express how great this woman looks.

http://pinkychampagne.blogspot.com/

dotty.

I am so into this outfit today. I took a risk with the polka dot tights/dress combo and it worked! I love it when that happends. I've said it before and I'll say it again. These shoes RULE. They make me feel like a sexy comic book villan :)

And Your little dog too!!!!!

I don't even know where to begin....What is there to say about gold sequined converse all stars? They kind of speak for themselves.

The Glamourous Life.

These pictures are so funny. I was attempting to look all sexy and whatnot and I just end up looking like a Mommy. A stylish Mommy-but a Mommy nonetheless.

This outfit is ALL ABOUT THE SHOES. I'm really into this whole 'statement sandal' trend. I love a statement shoe. Just keep the rest simple!

Here I am gazing lovingly at the sandals :)

My son was dancing around and it made me smile.

So I decided to dance with him!

He's too cute to resist...

And there you have it-Not as glamourous and I would have liked but still pretty awesome :)

"I'm late for a jean-folding seminar. Let's locomote!" and other 90's tidbits

I was a teenager in the '90's. It was....interesting. Lots of flannel and black eyeliner as I recall......

And Reality Bites!!!!

Vicky Minor and Lelaina Pierce(The two female leads) pretty much sum up who I wanted to be when I grew up. Honestly, to this day, if you put the 90's version of Jeaneane Garofalo in a blender with the 90's version of Winona Ryder....the resulting goo would be my idea of the perfect woman. Lelaina was beautiful and delicate. She wore floral dresses with combat boots and vintage crochet vests. Perfect. Vicky was loud and feminist and wore platform heels and amazing polyester vintage minidresses and oversized sunglasses. Also perfect.

Part of what I love about clothing is that it can allow you to live vicariously. I feel like a Lelaina and Vicky hybrid today and it is making me smile. I'm actually pretty glad that the 90's are super trendy right now. I gives me the chance to re-live the decade without quite so much flannel and eyeliner :)

Inspired....and other pictures featuring the colour blue.

So I am in looooooove with these pictures. My husband is a superstar.

This outfit was completly inspired by this blog post. I love the whole feel of the look she had going and I remembered that I had a lovely vintage top that was reminiscent so I dug it out from the 'never wear' section of my closet and voila! Totally fabulous.

It's funny I used to hate the colour blue on me(yes Americans that is how You spell colour!) But now it's the first colour I go for a lot of the time. I think the important lesson in to never say "never".......in life and espescially when it come to STYLE! I've worn some great blue things in the past few days. Here is my favorite. It's pretty low key but the tone on tone of the T-shirt with the FAB necklace is working really well.

*Bonus Shot!!! My VERY stylish son- Who clearly also looks great in blue :)

Oops. I forgot my pants.

Okay well, not exactly but I had this outfit in my mind last night and I just went with it even though I knew that this top/dress/top?!? was dangerously short as soon a I put it on. I think I was rationalizing it in my head because I paired it with over the knee boots.

Note to self: Over the knee boots are NOT PANTS.

This outfit is actually super cute. The dress was a boxing day steal at Wal Mart for maybe $4. If I didn't have to move and/or bend over it would be awesome!

Have a stylish weekend people!

Fun with Photoshop!

So I am on a quest to become and amazing photographer/model. I clearly have a long way to go but that's okay. It's all about the process. I think I have a good camera-I just have no idea what to do with it. I'm downloading the manual as we speak. watch out blogesphere. Here I come.
My posing and modeling skills are also lackluster. I have never liked modeliing/posing very much. Ironically, the best picture I have EVER taken has no clothing in it at all!

This was a photoshoot for a magazine and I had just gotten an AMAZING make-up job and the photographer is the best . Add that to the pregnancy glow and voila! I really admire the ability to take a good photo. There are so many variables. Espescially when you're trying to show off clothing.

Oh right-clothing. This is what I whipped up today. I like the way this outfit came together. I am sometimes weary of looking too 'tribal' in my influence because it can be a bit cliche with the dreadlocks etc. But I just can't help it sometimes. I never know how to style this belt. I think I did pretty well today.

This old thing? Old dress new blog and a great pair of sandals.

Every year around this time, I decide that I'm only going to wear vintage clothing and I go a bit mental with the vintage purchases. This great thing is, I don't even have to feel guilty about it because I could literally get myself a whole new wardrobe every week for about 50 bucks at Goodwill if I wanted to. There have been a billion blog posts devoted to better thrifting so I will spare you but I'm just saying....If you've never done it, give thrifting a try! Soon I'm going to do a whole post on my favorite thrifted pieces but this beauty is m latest find!

I love love love the print of the skirt and the red sash and the length of the skirt is just ladylike. I felt really lovely all night in this. AND it's actually a dress so it's so easy! just put it on and go! Why oh why did women stop wearing dresses everyday? I'll never understand it.

And now for the opposite of old: Brand spanking new double platform sandals! These sandals are so rediculous that they are absolutely perfect. I think I did a great job styling them with a simple black v-neck and distressed jeans. Yay Me.

Anyway my pets I must get going...what do you love abot this time of year? Has anyone else caught the thrifting bug?

The Dress From Heaven

This is such a lovely dress. I love how full the skirt is. I took a risk and rocked it with my fringed moccasins and I think it works. I had a denim jacket on over the whole look which brought everything together but it's really hot in my office right now!

These pictures are crazy. There is a giant window behind me and I think I left the flash on by accident. I actually kind of love the result so I decided against retaking them. I think it makes me look like I'm standing at the pearly gates waiting to get in to Heaven! I think God would say come right in and then ask to borrow my dress! As far as I'm concerned God is a very stylish woman not some creepy guy who needs a shave wearing an ill-fitting robe!

Have a Stylish Weekend!
