Oui Oui. Tres Trylish.

Oh.My.God.

Last night , my husband and I went out for our 2nd Anniversary. We went for french food at the cutest little bistro ever. We consumed:

Foie Gras - Salt-cured foie gras encrusted in toasted almond with an apricot-amaretto puree and croissant toast with a glass of sweet late harvest muscat

French Onion Soup

Butternut Squash Soup with Apple and walnut oil

Joues de Bison - Slow-braised, bacon-crusted bison cheeks w/ maple braising jus, heirloom tomato salad & corn fritters (100% local)

Confit de Canard - Tender pan-seared confit of duck legs w/ bacon-spiked cassoulet beans, market vegetables & a tri-citrus veal reduction

Crême Brulée - Vanilla

Absinthe, Malbec, framboise and Bitters made by French Monks!!!

Oh Mon Dieu!!!!!

It was absolutely out of this world. So needless to say, I was feeling quite inspired this morning! My outfit is clearly Parisian in feel.

I love this simplicity of a good striped shirt. Of course I had to keep it sexy with these awesome gigantic hoop earrings. They are my new favorite things. I had a bit of time so I did my eye makeup with a nice classic cat eye. I feel hot! Ooh and I even went with some Chanel inspired quilted ballet flats. C'est Magnifique!!!!

This morning, I checked out one of my favorite blogs Blue collar Catwalk and it turns out we kinda both had the same idea! Anyway, I think today's going to be a lovely day. I love you Manny. I love everyone else too :)

I see London, I see France.......

I am taking a few minutes to post before the mayhem that is work begins. I have been so busy. Ultimately, it's a good thing. This outfit was decidedly cuter in my head than in real life but I still like it quite a bit. The skirt is dangerously short. Oops.

I'm not sure if I love the pattern of the shirt. I thought it was more of a floral but it looks a bit too abstract for me right now. I do love the combo of the "urban" earring with the cat eye glasses. Anyway, I'm off to work. By Stylish!

Sex, Lies and Studded Booties.

First of all, My pictures:
They suck. I know. The thing is, when I leave for work in the morning, my husband is almost always asleep and so I don't have anyone to take pictures for me. Then when I get home, all I want to do is play with my son and cuddle with my husband so photo shoots are not exactly the first thing on my mind. I do have a camera and I am working on getting a tripod so I can do it myself. Please bear with me. I actually like the shitty Iphone pictures. I think it gives things a kind of voyeuristic vibe.

More importantly, LOOK AT THESE SHOES!!!!!

I am madly and passionately in love. Today's look is all about the shoes.

I have learned to NEVER say never when it comes to personal style-and in life in general. which brings me to leggings:

My instinct is to just say no to leggings. Leggings are NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to pull off. My thighs are not small. but all I could think of when I look at the shoes is these taupe leggings and this tunic and so I took the plunge. I LOVE IT. I think the taupe leggings make the whole look more interesting than black ones. These are my favorite earrings of all time by far. I can't say exactly why I love them so much, I just think they suit me really well. Overall I'm really in to this. I feel comfortable yet put together and I am stomping all around the office like a supermodel in my new shoes. WORK.

Make it work Mondays!

Oh.My.God. I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning. I had a strange weekend. I was tired the whole time and nothing I put on looked right at all which threw off my whole mood. Whatever.

I thought it would be a worthwhile experiment to try to push myself on Monday mornings in order to coax my lazy ass to get out of bed. I'm calling it "Make it work Mondays" because I like alliteration and because every Monday I'm going to wear something that I probably wouldn't normally wear.

This Monday is a HUGE risk: DRESS OVER PANTS.

Pretty scary. What can I say? I like to live on the edge. Needless to say, I am generally quite opposed to a dress over jeans. It really is a look best left to 1992 while watching my so called life and reading Sassy magazine. It's a strange silhouette.

I love this dress that I am wearing today but it is quite short and fitted. I am not Erin Brockovich so I feel a bit weird wearing it to work. I figured if I was going to try to rock a dress over pants it had better be a niceshort and form fitting dress to try to balance out the proportions a bit. This works I think. Although all I can think about it how cute this would look with black tights(not leggings-ack) and knee high black suede boots. I kept everything else simple so as not to appear crazy. As a special bonus make it work I threw on these earrings that I haven't been able to make work since I bought them months ago. It's a bit matchy matchy with the grey earring and the dress but still....IT WORKS.
