Up on the Roof.

Happy Monday to you all. I love this dress. It was another sweet vintage find( For anyone who is in Toronto I recommend 'I miss You' if you don't mind paying a bit more for really wonderful pieces) It's so easy and I can remix it with so many different belts/shoes/etc. and get a pretty different outcome. I went pretty subdued today on account of my Jem and the Holograms Mani/Pedi!

Second time is a charm

Whew! last week was KRAZY. Sneezing and coughing and earthquakes and RIOTING IN THE STREET. Thank Goddess that's over.

On to more important(and by that I mean less important) things:

I have worn this dress once before and I styled it ALL WRONG. It put me off of the poor thing. I put it on this morning with my past styling mistakes in mind and this is soooo much better.

P.S I love my glasses.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I now present to you-THE CUTEST JACKET OF ALL TIME:





I know this blog is just supposed to be about cute clothing but puttng this jacket on this morning reminded me of something fairly important. It reminded me that I am beautiful and unique and that I always have been. Duh.

The thing is, when you read/write fashion and style blogs, you are reminded daily that there is always someone more chic, more rich, happier, thinner, cooler and MORE STYLISH out there than you. Being reminded of this on a daily basis is sometimes hard. I started blogging because I wanted to show women that if they follow their instincts style just happens. Problem is, I think I have been spending too much time coveting other peoples style and STUFF. I will not be able to afford any Miu Miu platforms or Jessica Simpson clogs or Yoji Yamamoto jackets anytime soon. I never used to care about this.

I bought this little jacket at the goodwill for $1.25 a few months ago and once I got it home I resisted wearing it because I thought it wasn't 'fashiony' enough. I threw it on this morning on a whim and I feel GREAT. I feel like ME. I feel retro and girly and fun and STYLISH.

Just like I always have been.

So boys and girls, Today's lesson is be true to YOURSELF and pick and wear clothing that speaks to you. You will always look great.

A note about Tumblr. I LOVE it. It is really quite inspiration from a creative standpoint as well. You should all try it!

Should I stay or should I go?

I like this outfit. It's greater than the sum of it's parts.

These are my favorite pair of sandals. I have had them for years, they always look right and they are very comfortable. I love a wooden heel.

I know that everyone thinks they are the greatest thing ever but I have to say I think they make women's body's look rather fake and strange. For some reason I put some on underneath this dress today and really, all it did was make me feel weird and uncomfortable. It's not normal to be completely smooth from the waist down...their should be some jiggle....I am ready for this jelly.

I used to wear TONS of rings all the time. One on each finger!

Funny story: I lost 110 lbs and none of them fit anymore!

I never got any new ones and I've only worn my wedding rings since. I've been spotting all kinds of amazing rings lately. I hit the jackpot yesterday and found a great clearance bin: 1.50 each! They'll probably turn my fingers green but.....



I loooove this. I don't know if you can tell but this clear stone is magnifying an awesome photo of PEACOCK FEATHERS!

White Diamonds

You may be wondering why this post involving No white OR diamonds is called 'white diamonds'.

I sometimes put together an entire outfit based on a fragrance.


She's so glamorous I can't even stand it.


My husband brought me home some white diamonds last night. What a sweetie. It's the quintessential 80's fragrance really. I think everyone's mom had it. I have a very strong 'smell memory' if that makes any sense. This scent takes me right back to the 80's and makes me think of 2ND wave feminists with shoulder pads and leopard print wrap blouses under their power suits. It's all very working girl.(Not That kind of working girl-the movie!)




I do happen to have this leopard printed wrap blouse that I thrifted a while back and so I decided to rock it with some jeans and my 'mom glasses'. I spritzed on some white diamonds-and Voila!

What a difference a day makes.....

You guys....I love my hair! It's so interesting how changing one thing can inspire me to pull totally different things out of my closet than I might ordinarily. The beautiful weather helps also. Today's look is simple but pretty freaking adorable if you asked me! That awesome handmade brooch was a major score for 2 bucks! cheap IS stylish!

Nobody puts baby in a corner!

In case you missed it, my last post was all about my love for an 80's meets 50's vibe. After, I posted it, I realized that I forgot the ultimate 80's meets 50's movie: DIRTY DANCING!!! This outfit that I wore on Saturday is actually pretty boring but it is very 'Baby.' I rocked the HELL out of some cut-off jean shorts in the 80's!!!




Here I am doing my best 'Pachonga" or whatever it's called....Please excuse my crazy hair! I set it in pipe cleaners....it made the MOST AMAZING corkscrew curls ever! I am thrilled. Today's outfit is also very 80's meets 50's. It's a lovely little sundress from the 80's but the great full skirt and the length are inspired by the fabulous 50's. I think baby would have worn this outfit for sure!




p.s. I carried a watermelon.

HELLO!!!??!!! McFLY!!???!!!

For a brief magical moment in the 80's everyone was obsessed with the 50's-this gave birth to some of my favorite vintage looks of all time. Think Grease 2, Back to the Future or Joanie loves Chachi! This little ensemble that I've whipped up today is the bees knees! I think it's very 50's meets 80's. I hope everyone has a super stylish weekend!

We took our son out to the Zoo at High Park this past sunday. I had to post these pictures because we ended up wearing matching outfits! UNINTENTIONALLY I SWEAR!!!









Honestly though...this was totally by accident. My husband got my son dressed without even seeing what I was wearing. Psychic Stylishness!!!

Should I Buy These?!?

I should right? Are they too much? Is there even such a thing?!? I don't want them to take over my whole look but I do have a trillion other pairs so I think I should do it. I just can't resist a cat eye frame!!!

Brows much?!

What is it with my eyebrows!?! I swear to GODDESS I feel like I pluck them every 20 minutes and still....pure BUSH. Ohwell. I'm really in to this outfit. It's simple but ladylike and it really says "Onika".
