Oops. I forgot my pants.

Okay well, not exactly but I had this outfit in my mind last night and I just went with it even though I knew that this top/dress/top?!? was dangerously short as soon a I put it on. I think I was rationalizing it in my head because I paired it with over the knee boots.

Note to self: Over the knee boots are NOT PANTS.

This outfit is actually super cute. The dress was a boxing day steal at Wal Mart for maybe $4. If I didn't have to move and/or bend over it would be awesome!

Have a stylish weekend people!

Don't get High off Your own supply.

Blogging is so completely and utterly addictive. I usually post new blogs on my PC at work. It's just easier to post a blog without a one year old trying to type 'guest commentary by Kane' while I'm trying to get the blog up. My computer at work has crashed and I have been super swamped so I couldn't even take a break to post were it not impossible....where was I?....oh yes:

I have been away from Blogging/reading blogs for 5 days it has literally seemed like AN ETERNITY.

"Oh No! How will I go on without seeing someone artfully put together a belted cardigan, vintage floral skirt and over the knee boots?!!!

What will people do if they are deprived of my out of focus leopard print pumps?!!! What if they miss my ironic vintage t-shirt?!!!! Oh THE HORROR!!!!!"

I kid.

The moral of this long, poorly written story is that I think I really do love blogging. I love reading all of your blogs and I never want to miss another belted cardigan again :)

That being said, I did wear some cute things in the last 5 days. I was kind enough to put together a montage for your viewing pleasure. You're Welcome.

Today's look was pretty boring. I do really like this necklace.

These are my most favorite boots. I have had them for years and years. I had them before booties were cool and everyone made fun of me for wearing them. I've replaced the heels about 5 times. They make me feel like Apollonia.(10 points for you if you know who that is!)

I wore this on Saturday. I picked up this sweater while thrifting last weekend. It is so adorable I can't take it! I am wearing absolutely NO make up and I'm realising as I look back at the pictures that between the fresh face and the bow in my hair-I'm pretty sure I wore this exact outfit in Kindergarden in 1983! Ha! That's Awesome!

Phew...I feel better now that I've got all that pent up blogging out of my system.

Stay Stylish Folks!

Sex, Lies and Studded Booties.

First of all, My pictures:
They suck. I know. The thing is, when I leave for work in the morning, my husband is almost always asleep and so I don't have anyone to take pictures for me. Then when I get home, all I want to do is play with my son and cuddle with my husband so photo shoots are not exactly the first thing on my mind. I do have a camera and I am working on getting a tripod so I can do it myself. Please bear with me. I actually like the shitty Iphone pictures. I think it gives things a kind of voyeuristic vibe.

More importantly, LOOK AT THESE SHOES!!!!!

I am madly and passionately in love. Today's look is all about the shoes.

I have learned to NEVER say never when it comes to personal style-and in life in general. which brings me to leggings:

My instinct is to just say no to leggings. Leggings are NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to pull off. My thighs are not small. but all I could think of when I look at the shoes is these taupe leggings and this tunic and so I took the plunge. I LOVE IT. I think the taupe leggings make the whole look more interesting than black ones. These are my favorite earrings of all time by far. I can't say exactly why I love them so much, I just think they suit me really well. Overall I'm really in to this. I feel comfortable yet put together and I am stomping all around the office like a supermodel in my new shoes. WORK.

Men Don't make passes.....

So this is going well I think! A trillon Thank Yous to anyone who has been reading so far. My hope is that people are inspired to take a little bit more time to think about the beauty that is all around you every single day. My son helps me to do that. He's going through a 'WOW!" stage. Yesterday he came running up to me to show me A SHOPPING BAG yelling "Wow, Wow WOW!" The thing is, it WAS a nice shopping bag(shiny black and white Damask-AND it made a fun crinkly sound!) but when you're 14 months old everything is NEW. I recommend going through life like EVERYTHING is new-FOREVER. That sounds rediculous and cliche but I really believe it's true. I've been thinking about what it is that helps one cultivate a sense of style and I've come to the conclusion that it really does have a lot to do with being able to see beauty in the seemingly mundane. It's also has a lot to do with tension and contrast.

"What the hell are you talking about?!?" You may be saying.

Well I'll show you. Take the outfit I'm wearing today for example:

I have always been half blind(not really but you get it)and I have always needed glasses. I have never really liked wearing glasses and so more often than not I opt for contact lenses. I don't have a good reason for hating my glasses other than the fact that I think they make me look less "pretty" which is rediculous I know. Anyhoo....I have 4 different pairs of glasses because I am crazy and obsessed with looking 'just right' at all times. I've had these glasses since I was 19 and I love them. They are sort of an updated cat eye which is such a classic shape and so much fun. I didn't wear them for years and I've just put them back into rotation. I love the contrast of a 'nerdy' pair of glasses with my dreadlocks and tattoos. Or the tension of a 'ladylike' top and bow in the hair with the 'sexy' leather boot and pinstripes. It keeps the eye guessing and makes you look...wait for it.....STYLISH.

Does that make sense? I hope so.

Overall I think this outfit is super cute and sexy in a very subtle way which was my goal. SUCCESS!!!

p.s I have a very high forehead. Eat your heart out Tyra Banks.

Don't be Tardy for the Party

Good morning! All is well with me. So today's outfit was an emotional roller coaster. It seemed amazing in my head....and then I put it on....and I thought it looked a little too country and western...but then I put on some make up and made it work! Now I think it's super cute. I luuuuuuuuuv this jacket. I bought it on eBay years ago. I added the toggles myself which is not something that I do often. DIY is tres stylish but I have no patience. The boots are thrifted and I love them. They have this beautiful work at the back that I think is very unique.
